The UK’s largest independent supplier of high-quality barrel, rack and reel-to-reel strip plating, Frost Electroplating have donated £1,500 to sponsor and support Para-Dressage rider, Ashleigh Jones.

Ashleigh, 21, was born with a form of Cerebral Palsy which has left her with reduced function throughout the whole of the right side of her body. Frost Electroplating are sponsoring Ashleigh for the first international competition of the year in July from 5-9th.

Ashleigh explained: “I am so grateful for Frost Electroplating, without the support of them and many others, I wouldn’t be able to get to where I want to be. There are two sides to every medal, the one side is the ultimate performance for me and the horse when we win that gold medal. On the other side, there is everyone who has been a part of the journey to make this possible to get me here.”

At the age of seven as a form of physiotherapy she began to ride, but was told she would never be able to ride properly. Ashleigh is now an International Para Dressage Rider who is determined to make it to the top of her profession.

Ashleigh added: “My main goal is to win gold at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. I have always had the dream of winning gold, so to me that goal is non-negotiable. I just dream of having an amazing horse, having a gold medal around my neck at Tokyo 2020 and being able to thank everybody.”

Unfortunately, dressage is a sport where the best horses win, but the best horses are hard to find and extremely expensive to buy. The cost of maintaining a horse and competing at this level is immense and set to increase as Ashleigh starts to compete abroad, to date, Ashleigh's only financial support has come from her family. This inspirational role-model now needs further financial support and sponsorship to continue her dream.

Frost Electroplating’s Business Development Manager, Seamus Bourke stated: “We are immensely proud of being able to support Ashleigh for her first international competition in the lead up to Tokyo. I would urge any other company capable of supporting her to do so. To see Ashleigh compete in Tokyo would be incredible and we wanted to help in making her dreams become a reality.”

You can join Club 2020, to be part of Ashleigh’s journey to the 2020 Paralympic games in Tokyo, there are several options: make a small personal donation via Paypal as every little helps, or you may wish to be part of the horse syndicate consisting of 20 sponsors investing £1000 each. Commercial arrangements can be made with corporate sponsors looking to invest larger amounts or for a longer period of time.
